It is this day of the year again. “Daylight saving” is enforced from tonight on. For those who dont know it: this two-time a year enforced jetlag costs on average a handfull of lifes in traffic and work accidents in the weeks after it becomes active. People are getting sleepy because they are already streched thin in terms of sleep and get an extra hour robbed tonight.

I have this low-priority project called realzeit.org, which aims to get rid of the time-shifting. I am not against “summer time” per se, but please then change once and dont change back. There might be good reasons to want to be one timezone farther east, but there is none for shifting back after half a year. So the Campaign for Realzeit aims at abolishing time shifts in favor of a permanent settled timezone. Economic reasons are all in favor of this concept, it is just EU bureocracy that persists…
