Kleiner Schönheitsfehler im Paradies
Von Sao Paulo bin ich mit dem Fernbus zur Insel Ilhabela gefahren, das ist für die Paulistas ungefähr so wie Rügen für die Berliner: ein nahegelegenes Ferienparadies im Meer. Wie der Name schon sagt ist die Insel wirklich schön. Touristisch erschlossen ist die der Kuste zugewandte Seite. Vom Festland aus kommt man mit einer kostenlosen Fähre hin, die ungefähr alle Stunde von Sao Sebastiao fährt
Die Natur hier ist tropisch üppig und sehr grün und bunt. Die ersten zwei Tage war es bedeckt und nieselig, bei knapp 30 Grad. Abends ging ein monströser Regen nieder, das Wasser schoss in Sturzbächen die Hangstrassen herunter, die Ablaufgräben gurgelten und spritzten.
Seit gestern ist es sonnig und heiss, 33 Grad mittags. Durch den leichten Wind von der See ist es trotzdem angenehm.
Die scheinbar ungetrübte Strandszene oben weist einen kleinen Schönheitsfehler am Horizont auf: die Schiffe im Bild sind Öltanker, die ihre Fracht am Petrobras-Terminal in Sao Sebastiao ausladen. Von dort wird es zu den grossen Rafinerien weiter im Landesinneren transportiert. Riesige Lagertanks umrahmen die kleine Stadt. Die Schiff liegen bis weit hinten am Horizont auf Reede.
Offenbar hat Petrobras das Ladeterminal recht gut im Griff, an den Stränden und im Wasser ist von den riesigen Ölmengen, die quasi in Sichtweite umgepumpt werden, nichts zu sehen oder zu riechen. Trotzdem ist der Gedanke natürlich etwas beunruhigend. Das Paradies ist nur einen Fehler, eine Nachlässigkeit von der Katastrophe entfernt…
